Curriculum

Education is a foundation for life. At Brooksward  we aim to ensure each child’s growth; academically, physically, spiritually and emotionally. We believe that  the fulfilment of individual potential is the right of every child irrespective of gender, race or ability. The curriculum is broad and balanced and delivered in a thorough and stimulating way.

The curriculum is the cornerstone of all education. At Brooksward School, we believe that children have a right to expect a curriculum which is fun, motivating, interesting and most importantly purposeful. We strive to develop imagination through a stimulating, creative environment where every child has the opportunity to shine.

The National Curriculum has three broad aims. It should enable all young people to become:

  • Successful learners, who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve. The curriculum should enable all young people to become successful learners, who make progress at school and enjoy learning;
  • confident individuals who are able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives. Confident individuals with a sense of self-worth and personal identity, who are able to form good relationships with others;
  • responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society. Responsible citizens, who value and respect others and the environment and take an active role in their school and wider community

We foster an appreciation of the rich variety of the world and teach respect and tolerance. The fact that we live in a society of many cultures offers exciting opportunities for enrichment. This school offers united and total opposition to any form of racism.
